LILY MĀHEALANI MITCHELL
Aloha mai kākou. I am a Native Hawaiian artist and graphic designer that found my way to the U.K., where I am currently in my final year of university at Leeds Beckett. My background in fine arts provides me with a strong foundation in the basic principles of art, design, color, and illustration, making my artwork and design especially unique.
Hawaiʻi, e kuʻu one hānau, is my biggest inspiration, both in style and topic matter. Criticizing appropriative and disrespectful interpretations of my own race has been something I have explored greatly in my education.
I have found a deep love for typography as well as branding -- helping others communicate their strengths and supporting their storytelling journey is a lifelong passion I intend to explore more deeply.
